"It's such happiness when good
people get together - and they always do."
Jane Austen, Emma
The Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) and its
various local chapters are dedicated to the study and enjoyment of topics
relating to Miss Austen's novels. The Pittsburgh chapter meets 4-6 times a year in
various venues around the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Some of these meetings include
informal teas with group discussion. Some include a viewing and discussion
of a movie adaptation of a Jane Austen novel. Others are more
formal luncheons, usually held at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association (PAA) in Oakland, near
Pittsburgh, PA.
www.paaclub.org These luncheons feature speakers who discuss Jane Austen,
her life, books, and movies, as well as Regency England.
Annual membership dues for the Pittsburgh chapter are $10 and
membership in the Jane Austen Society of North America is required.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a literary
society in search of scintillating conversation, must always be in want of new
members! Please contact our Secretary, at the e-mail below, to get
information on membership or on upcoming meetings, or click on the "news" link
at left. We look forward to meeting new Jane fans - known informally as Janeites!
